Rihanna Facing Another 'S&M' Lawsuit

Rihanna's controversial music video for 'S&M' has landed her in hot water yet again. This time around, photographer Phillip Paulus is suing the singer for copyright infringement.

According to RadarOnline.com, Paulus alleges that Rihanna identically replicated his series of photographs, called 'Paperworld,' in the racy video without his permission.

The scene in question depicts Rihanna, dressed in a large, fluffy gown against a wall, and is covered in plastic and surrounded by large black 'X' marks. Paulus claims one of his photographs is extremely similar in both concept and execution.

"For legitimate reasons the use of copying Paulus' work over a million times requires an agreement that protects the copyright and the achievements and creations of our client which has never been given by our client, neither to the artist Rihanna nor to her label Universal Music," Paulus' lawyer said in a statement. "According to this, the copyright laws of our client has been infringed and the worldwide million-wise exploitation of the video 'S&M' is unlawful."
Paulus also released a statement of his own regarding Rihanna and the lawsuit.

"Why a worldwide celebrity is not able to afford a creative director, who creates individual concepts and stagings, is incomprehensible for me," Paulus said. "To create new things within the creative cosmos, you can only expect this to come from a real genius, there is no doubt about that."

He adds that the singer and her label should be embarrassed that they copied another artist's work.

"...Every other creative professional should realize how supremely embarrassing it is to copy the work of colleagues from the artistic world and then to be praised for it," he said.

This is the second 'S&M' lawsuit for Rihanna and Universal. Photographer David LaChapelle sued over the video in February, claiming it copied the "composition, total concept, feel, tone, mood, theme, colors, props, settings, decors, wardrobe and lighting" of his work.

With a hot ticket in the box office in 'Midnight in Paris,' it looks like Owen Wilson is saving his happy ending for the big screen. According to the UK's Daily Mail, Wilson has split from the mother of his child, Jade Duell.

Wilson and Duell welcomed their first child, son, Robert, five months ago but it turns out that a baby wasn't enough to keep the family together.

"Owen wanted the freedom to do what he wanted with his friends, both male and female, while remaining a family unit with Jade and the baby," a source close to the couple told the National Enquirer. "But Jade wasn't willing to go along with that, so Owen decided to end things with her instead of cheating behind her back."
It sounds like Wilson's 'Midnight in Paris' character may be rubbing off on him in real life, but he should know better than to think he could have it both ways. According to reports, Wilson remains in Santa Monica, California while his girlfriend and baby mama, Duell, moved back to New York with the couple's baby to be with her family. Wilson also flew solo at the majority of his 'Midnight in Paris' premieres and press events, making it seem as though Duell was either busy at home with baby Robert or the pair had been separated for quite some time.

The couple first met last year -- Duell was an air marshal sitting next to Wilson on a flight. Although their meet cute sounds like a Woody Allen movie in the making, it looks like the pair won't be getting a typical romcom ending.

Jennifer Aniston recently made a big life decision about someone very dear to her heart.

No, we're not talking about the TV and movie star's new romance with Justin Theroux. Aniston has been spotted sporting her very first tattoo, an elegant script prominently inked on the inside of her right foot.

The tattoo, according to People.com, reads "Norman," a tribute to her precious 15-year-old Welsh corgi-terrier mix. Aniston's beloved dog sadly passed away last month.

"Men come and go but there really is no relationship like the one you have with a dog -- and then they don't live as long as they should," she once told a British news outlet. "You have to say goodbye way too soon. It's just so sad. It makes me so sad. But their love is unconditional and I love that," Aniston added.
No word on where the actress, 42, got her tattoo, or whether any other names will be inked onto her body; she is reportedly also the owner of a German shepherd mix named Dolly. Meanwhile, she's clearly been cheered up in the past few weeks by spending a lot of quality time with Theroux. The writer-actor sat in the front row of Aniston's recent 'Inside the Actors' Studio' taping, where his new girlfriend reportedly teared up while discussing the loss of Norman. Hugh Hefner certainly doesn't waste any time. Less than two weeks after being dumped by fiancee Crystal Harris, the Playboy founder hasmoved on with Playmate Anna Sophia Berglund, and he's not holding his feelings back.

"With Crystal gone, Anna is my best girl," Hefnertweeted to a fan who asked if he was dating the Playmate, who was Miss January 2011. He also added that Berglund, 25, is one of Harris' friends, and that "Anna is really one in a million."

However, the almost-Mrs. Hefner doesn't think Berglund and Hef are an item.

James Spader in Talks to Return to 'The Office'

James Spader, new boss of Dunder Mifflin? Maybe, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The 'Boston Legal' star is reportedly in talks to join 'The Office,' but not as Scranton branch manager -- as the Dunder Mifflin/Sabre CEO. 'Harry's Law' actress Kathy Bates currently plays the paper and printer company honcho, but won't be able to reprise her 'Office' role and star on 'Harry's Law' at the same time.

"In the finale, he kicked ass," a source close to the show told EW. "He was so funny and had this weird energy. We didn't want to pass it up."

While no scripts have been written for 'The Office' Season 8 and Spader has yet to sign a deal, the likely scenario according to EW is this: Spader's character is hired as branch manager, but quickly decides the job is too small for him. He then convinces corporate to give him the CEO gig. That would leave the branch manager position open for either an internal or external hire ... and we're back to square one.
Bates guest starred in a handful of episodes, but Spader would appear on more regular basis.

'Doctor Who' veteran Catherine Tate emerged as the front-runner for the job, according to reports following her Season 7 finale appearance, but she's doing a play in London until September. The Spader scenario could feasibly give her enough time to wrap the stage production and then join 'The Office' as the branch manager.

Prince William and Kate at Military Ceremony

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended a formal military ceremony in Windsor, England, on Saturday morning to award medals to soldiers of the Irish Guards for their service in Afghanistan.

Back in April, of course, Prince William wore the distinctive red uniform of the Irish Guards when he married Kate Middleton at Westminster Abbey.

As part of this weekend's military parade, the newlyweds shook hands and paused to chat with hundreds of the troops, who lined up for the honors.

"I can only imagine what the campaign medals you receive today must mean to you," said William.

Kate, dressed smartly in head-to-toe navy blue, remarked that she was pleased to be involved because the regiment is "so close" to her husband's heart.

The BBC praised Kate's "relaxed" demeanor, in her first military appearance as a member of the royal family. She and William, who was named Colonel of the Irish Guards in February, also met privately before the event with the families of three fallen servicemen to deliver posthumous medals.
In a matter of days, William and Kate will begin an 11-day tour of North America, including a stay in Los Angeles. The Duke celebrated his 29th birthday earlier this week.

Jennifer Aniston Brings Beau to 'Inside the Actors Studio' Taping.

Jennifer Aniston is the latest celebrity to sit down with James Lipton for a taping of 'Inside the Actors Studio'--and she brought current beau Justin Theroux to the big event!

Aniston taped the show Thursday night in front of an audience filled with fans and acting students--but she seemed to only have eyes for Theroux, according to UsMagazine.com. The 42-year-old actress kept stealing glances, even winking one time, at Theroux who sat in the front row.

"Whenever there would be a lull, she would just look at him and give him a wink and go back to what she was doing," second-year Actors Studio MFA student Christina Schudel told PEOPLE after the taping.

She even called him out, among others, as people she "loved" working with over the course of her career.

During her chat with Lipton, Aniston talked about sex scenes and her relationships with her old 'Friends' co-stars. "They are miserable," Aniston said of sex scenes. "It's your total figure in front of a lot of people. And you have to do so many takes. I wonder if they did that on purpose!"

Celebrities Push to Pass Marriage Equality Bill in New York.

It certainly has been a groundbreaking yet nail biting week for marriage equality in New York as same-sex marriage advocates have come within one Republican Senate vote to pass the marriage equality bill -- although the vote still has yet to take place.

But the hesitation to bring the bill to a vote -- on behalf of Republicans -- is not for the lack of trying and persuasion from our favorite LGBT supporting celebrities.

"I'd sure love to get married," Neil Patrick Harris tweeted Friday evening. "Please, NY Senate, vote in favor of marriage equality today. My family would really appreciate it."
The LGBT community's resident mother monster, Lady Gaga, has also been fervently tweeting about the potential passing of the bill and urging her fans to call their local senators and ask them to vote yes to legalize gay marriage.

In the involuntary manslaughter trial of Dr. Conrad Murray, accused of administering the pop icon's fatal dose of meds, the defendant is allegedly maintaining his innocence so adamantly,TMZ reports that Murray wants to refuse any plea offer, including deals with no jail time.

Behind the scenes, Murray's team just won court approval to view hours of outtakes from the MJ documentary 'This Is It.' In gainingaccess to the top-secret footage, the defense seeks proof that Jackson was unwell in the days before his 2009 cardiac arrest.

As for Jackson's kids, Prince, Paris and Blanket were spotted taking in a movie on Friday. The three are in the care of their grandmother, Katherine Jackson, and reportedly thriving.

And outspoken as always about her family's dramas, 'Celebrity Apprentice' contestant LaToya Jackson has been making the rounds promoting her upcoming book. In 'Starting Over,' she insists Murray is merely the fall guy in a broader conspiracy plot carried out to kill her brother.
"This is definitely something that was premeditated, that they had planned to do, and they planned to take my brother out, and my brother knew it, and that's why my brother told me repeatedly....that this was going to happen to him," she said in a recent interview, according to CBS News. Usher hasn’t approached P. Middy yet, but it sounds like he’s getting close.

Josh Duhamel Asks Fans and Celebrities to Support Flooded North Dakota Hometown.

LOS ANGELES – Josh Duhamel, the television and film actor known for his roles in the "Transformers" movie franchise, rallied his fans and famous friends Friday to support his hometown of Minot, North Dakota, which is battling a devastating flood.

As the city of 41,000 prepared to face massive flooding earlier this week, Duhamel began frequently posting about the disaster on Twitter, urging other celebrities to raise awareness and soliciting donations for the Red Cross.

Residents were evacuating Minot on Friday as the Souris River flooded parts of the city and officials said floodwaters were likely to rise higher than previously expected.

The crest was now predicted to reach 1,564.5 feet above sea level by early Sunday afternoon, which would break a 130-year-old record by more than six feet, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing National Weather Service data. The flooding could put some parts of the city under as much as 15 feet of water, the Journal said.

Judge Spares Linday Lohan From The Jail Time.

Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan will not go to jail despite testing positive for alcohol use last week because a Superior Court judge says she was not required to submit to controlled substance testing after February 25.

Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner said during a hearing Thursday that she did not think Lohan violated her probation by testing positive for alcohol during a recent test.

Sautner says the court record is ambiguous about whether or not Lohan was ordered to refrain from drinking.

The 24-year-old actress arrived Thursday for the meeting with Judge Sautner, who said that Lohan's prior judge, Elden Fox, only required substance testing from January 3- February 25, TMZ reports. The Probation Dept. will no longer test Lohan for drugs or alcohol since there is no court order allowing it.

Arriving at the conference shortly before 10 a.m. PST Thursday, a solemn-faced Lohan walked past photographers and members of the media. Wearing a blue button-down shirt and dark trousers, she covered her face with sunglasses and tied her blonde hair back in a ponytail.

Oprah to Receive Honorary Doctorate From African University Troubled With Race Relations.

BLOEMFONTEIN, South Africa -- A central South African university known for fraught race relations is welcoming a visit by Oprah Winfrey as an acknowledgment of the progress it has made toward tolerance.

On Friday, Winfrey is to receive an honorary doctorate from the University of the Free State, bringing international media to normally quiet Bloemfontein, the farming center where the century-old university is based.

In 2006, four white Free State students made a video humiliating black cleaning women and expressing opposition to integrating the historically white school. Jonathan Jansen, who in 2009 became the university's first black rector, has been credited with pushing for change.


Nadipha Jacobs, a black student, says the university is slowly becoming more tolerant, and that the visit from the world's most recognizable black businesswoman shows that.

"In many ways, I feel the university and its people have grown," said Jacobs, who started as an undergraduate in 1996 and now is a graduate student specializing in development studies.

Winfrey, who is to give a speech and take questions from students on Friday, has yet to comment on her university honor.

Justin Bieber's "Attacker" was Actually an Undercover Cop.

Turns out Justin Bieber‘s male attacker — who reportedly knocked the 17-year-old teen dream to the ground this morning outside his fragrance event at Macy’s Herald Square in NYC — was only trying to protect him as the man is now being reported as an undercover cop.

When Justin was greeting his fans outside of the event, the crowd reportedly became a little bit aggressive and an undercover cop went to help him, TMZ reports.

But Bieber allegedly didn’t know the man, who was dressed as a civilian, was a police officer and thought he was a crazed fan, which reportedly made him defensive.

Then a member of Justin’s security team grabbed the cop away from JB.

TMZ reports that after the cop identified himself he then “cited” the security team member for “disorderly conduct.” - ok magazine.

“You know, I love the original, but I like the pacing of The Muppets Take Manhattan a little better. But, I mean, they’re all so good. I mean, I could talk about this forever,” he admits. “But The Great Muppet Caper is interesting because it’s just a stand-alone story. They basically just played different characters. Kermit and Fozzie are playing twin brothers, which [laughs] is hilarious. I think the original The Muppet Movie has an amazing sweetness to it; it tells a great story of how they got together. But The Muppets Take Manhattan, with the Manhattan Melodies at the end, is the classic one for me.”

The larger arc of "True Blood" may see an epic love triangle and struggle for Sookie Stackhouse's love, but off the set, that battle was won long ago. And you just don't mess with Bill.

Stephen Moyer, in a cover story for the new issue of Men's Health, opens up about his relationship with co-star and now wife Anna Paquin, who plays the psychic object of bayou affection on the HBO show, now in its fourth season. The pair met during auditions, and at first, it was all professional. But as it so often happens, distance made the heart grow fonder.

"I did find love on set. We had met at the very first rehearsal before my screen test for HBO, for the network, for the pilot," Moyer remembered. "Our interest was piqued by each other but at that point it was like, we're about to work together for a long time, hopefully, you know, if the show gets picked up. So, there were no feelings at that point...they put us in a hotel, we were in the same hotel. We were having dinner every night. I got back to London and Anna got back to New York and I just missed speaking to her every day, which is what we had been doing up into that point. Bob's your uncle, Fanny's your aunt, and... you have a marriage."

Well, it took some romancing, including Skype calls that lasted two to three hours per night. Presumably, they weren't just going over lines.

Whether Bob or Fanny were invited, the pair were married last August.

The thing about a marriage between two stars of a massive TV show is that they have to share each other with the world. Especially with a rabid fan base like the one that obsesses over "True Blood." Which means there has to be some understanding -- sometimes.

With the premiere of "Cars 2" on Friday, Pixar will have released twelve full length features since they kicked off with the massive worldwide sensation, "Toy Story," in 1995. Between their features and shorts, the 3D animation studio, now owned by Disney, has garnered 26 Academy Awards amidst universal praise from both critics and fans. They've broken animation grounds time and time again, telling heartwarming stories with breathtaking imagery.

But there's one place the fearless studio hasn't gone: for all their strong female characters, the studio has never had a lead female protagonist. That's about to change.

Pixar has released the poster for their next film, "Brave," the tale of a warrior princess from Scotland. First appearing at Entertainment Weekly, the film is about a tough Scottish princess who eschews royalty for her dream to become an archer. Voiced by Kelly MacDonald, the film is due to hit theaters June 22, 2012.

Rob McElhenney will do anything for a laugh.

The creator, executive producer and co-star of the FX hit comedy, "It's Always Sunny In Philadephia," McElhenney has broken every racist, homophobic, child abusing, misogynistic taboo possible in the show's six seasons. Now, for the show's seventh go-round, he's putting his body on the line -- just because he thought it'd be funny.

McElhenney gained 50 pounds for the coming season because he thought it would be funny to play his character, prideful and in shape Mac, as a fat guy.
