X Factor 2011: Cheryl Cole thinks Simon Cowell sacked her to save UK series!

Cheryl Cole has reportedly told friends that the reason she is so upset at being axed from the US X Factor series, is because she knows it was Simon Cowell’s decision to let her go.

The music mogul was the one who championed her for a job on the American series and persuaded her to leave England and relocate. However, she is said to believe that despite performing well at the first few auditions she attended, ITV bosses were so concerned about their upcoming series that they persuaded Simon to send her back.

A friend of Cheryl’s allegedly told The News Of The World that she said:

“I know that this was Simon’s decision and that’s why it’s so hurtful that he didn’t tell me. I don’t know why nobody told me I hadn’t been performing well.”

She apparently claimed that Fox boss Mike Darnell loved her and continued:

“Mike came up to me after the first audition and told me things had gone really well and that they had lots of great footage.”

However, ITV boss Peter Fincham flew out for a meeting with Simon Cowell just days before Cheryl was axed and a source said:

“Peter expressed his worry about the UK show and how much he would love to get Cheryl back. Simon knew how badly ITV needed her.”

However, it has been claimed that Cheryl will NOT return to ITV and instead bosses will have to settle for Tulisa and Kelly Rowland as their female judges for 2011. They will be joined by Take That singer Gary Barlow and old faithful Louis Walsh.

Do you believe this latest story and these latest claims? We’re getting a bit confused with all the conflicting reports, so we’d love to hear your views below.
